U.S. Navy Awards BAE Systems $125 Million Dollars.

The U.S. Navy awarded BAE Systems - San Diego Ship Repair, $125 million dollars for the execution of fiscal  2022 docking selected restricted availability of the Wasp-class Landing Helicopter Dock USS Essex. 

This contract will include a combination of modernization, maintenance, and repairs of the USS Essex. If exercised, the cumulative value of the contract would be $148,226,878. 

This is the second ship in the Navy’s Wasp Class, and the company helped maintain the lead vessel, USS Wasp, Under a $237.7 million contract awarded in November 2020.

All of the work is to be conducted in San Diego, CA. The Navy Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
